One of Newton’s laws of motion says all objects remain at a state of rest until a force is applied. In other words in our world things don’t move by themselves they have to be moved and this is true of you and I like a bolt without steel and the balloon without air; without a strong internal drive you cannot push yourself to achieve success.

When you discover the secret of motivation then you can stimulate yourself and others to achieve outstanding success. You must always remember that your ability to take action begins from your heart; as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. So, you must be internally driven. The things that motivate a man are referred to as basic needs for example the need for love where love is promise or there is the possibility of experiencing love we are motivated to action. Also there is need for security, there is the need for creative expression, for competence, for being able to do something that is unique to you.

Our motives determine how much drive we have to sustain our pursuit of success and we are largely motivated by what we believe. Without motivation life becomes a drab, we become complacent and we settle for mediocrity. Some people just never have any drive, they wish for the good life, they wish to have a nice job, they wish to have a nice family, they wish to have some money but they just cannot get themselves up and get going, they are not willing to do anything about what they desire. Find out what turns you on and turn your life into a magnificent obsession as you pursue the desires of your heart.

The secret of motivation is definiteness of purpose and faith. The man or woman who has no purpose has no high ideas, no dreams; he cannot be on fire to achieve anything. It is believed that motivation is better than benefits and please never forget that. Don’t focus on the past, don’t focus on the money rather contribution will motivate you better than consumption. When you focus on material things to motivate you as soon as you acquire them you may lose your drive or when you lose those material things your motivation also goes. You focus on what you will add to people’s lives. You don’t truly succeed until you have helped others to succeed. There was a rich man who was once asked; you have more money than you would never need to spend why are you starting new businesses? He said I know that in our country for one person that I employed, I am feeding ten people. I don’t need the money but they do that’s why I’m starting the businesses so I can employ more people. There is so much to do to make life better for us in this nation but remember when you give you will receive.

You can use goals to motivate yourself and don’t get satisfy too soon. Dear reader there is a higher level, there is a new level and you can use special trips even gifts to motivate yourself. David before killing Goliath in the Bible asked what will be done for the man who kills this guy; when they told him he will become the king’s son- in- law he took the giant off. You too can kill the giant, get going!
  
Have a monthly programme for personal development. You should be reading every month; you should attend a seminar, take a course but keep improving and developing yourself. You stay motivated when you become a better person. Next, plan every week in detail so much you hit the ground running on Monday. Plan your week see yourself achieving worthwhile goals in the course of the week. And then next, leave one day at a time like the Bible says sufficient onto the day is the evil thereof. Leave yesterday’s problems they are gone, leave tomorrow’s problems you can’t do anything about them face today

And finally, take time to review your family and business goals and see how well you have done with your family, how much you have done in praying together, how much you have done with the children’s education, how much you have done financially and then do that also for your business; are your staff members happy? And then take time off - go on vacation, visit new places, come back with fresh ideas get fired up and get running. And I believe you will succeed this year like never before.
